Our History…

About 15 years ago, Mike Brydon, after seeing the environmental and cultural insensitivity of so many safari companies, had a vision to start a different kind of Safari Company. One that specialized not only in adventure but also in responsible tourism; free of environmental inadequacy, cultural exploitation, and mass consumption... TROPICAL TRAILS was born and has beenoperatingsuccessfully ever since!

Giving back to the community…

Tropical Trails not only wants you to show you Tanzania as it should be seen, but also aims to give back to the local community, a sector that is often neglected. As part of our commitment to the local communities, we have gone beyond simply funding various rural projects and developed the ARUSHA CHILDRENS TRUST, which caters to the educational needs of underprivileged Children in more remote areas of the Tanzania please contact us for more information about the trust and its current projects.

Mike Brydon

Mike Brydon
Mike first "ventured" to Africa in 1984 and, after having caught the mythical ’Africa Bug', returned for good in '90. This ecologically-minded Scotsman started Tropical Trails from the ground up; beginning first as a trekking and mountain guide and from there pursued other avenues ranging from geology to alternative architecture. His diverse knowledge is vast and invaluable and if you can, sit him down for a beer and listen to some of his fascinating stories! Mike is also the founder of the Arusha Children's Trust.
Janeth Ngotty

Janeth Ngotty
Ms Janeth is hard working, completely devoted to the company and has introduced many important changes and streamlined its overall operation, and still manages the accounts! She loves tourism because it exposes Tanzania's beauty to the world. Even after 12 years, she’s still going strong and getting stronger!
Mercy Simon Laizer

Mercy Simon Laizer
After 8 years as head of sales, Mercy’s now become Sales and Marketing Manager for the company. A pure Maasai Lady 'but dressing well' loves the travel industry and has attended tourism events in the USA & UK. Her personal knowledge of so many of the goings on at Tropical Trails smoothes the way for each of our clients. What makes her so outstanding is her ability to put clients at ease with a warm welcome and sound advice that perfectly suits their individual needs and desires.
Annette Temba

Annette Temba
In her over 4 years of experience in the tourism industry, Annette has a natural flair for the industry. Whenever you need a really great and interesting itinerary, she can deliver it and assure you the best trip ever! She’s friendly, fun, and outgoing and if you’re working with her, you can rest assured you’re going to be well taken care of. Annette loves the travel business and has been to UK and other countries in Africa!
Nancy Kabendera

Nancy Kabendera
Young, perky, bright and outgoing, Nancy’s our newest sales representative! Raised in a safari industry family, it was clear from the start that we’d picked a winner who would serve our clients well.
Johary Hussein

Johary Hussein
With 5 years experience in the safari industry, she’s in charge on ALL accounts plus all data entry. Hard working and fun to be with, she just never seems to get tired! If it weren’t for Johari, our accounts would be on bits of paper all over the office! Her organizational and accounting skills keep us all up to date and on our toes. You can relax because she makes sure your safari gets paid on time, so all you have to do is enjoy it!
Yese Abraham Mongi

Yese Abraham Mongi
Without Yese, there would be no safaris! A true Maasai Man, he’s the liaison between the office staff, drivers, the lodges, and the airlines. He’s awake around 5am daily to assure all departures leave on schedule and is usually the last to leave. He oversees transfers and ensures you'll be greeted by one of us at the airport. He makes sure there is availability at hotels and lodges and is ALWAYS the first one in and the last one out of the office! We’re proud he’s with us.
