Dear Tropical Trails, 18 November 2009

Hope this finds everyone well. I apologize for the tardiness of my letter but better late
than never. I am writing this on my behalf and the behalf of others in my group. We really
enjoyed our time in Tanzania and your amazing and competent staff made it all the better.
Nancy went above and beyond her duties from finding us different denominations of
Tanzanian money to collect, to warding off the rude boys and taking us shopping in the
center of Arusha. She even came to listen to us play a bit of Reggae music at the Karama.
Many thanks and much gratitude to her overall.
We really enjoyed the hike up Kilimanjaro and Samuel was an extremely thorough and
prepared team leader for that experience. I particularly enjoyed his personality and
different social narratives on his observations of cultural differences during his
guiding experiences. I was astonished at his cell phone service, which is superior to
mine in the United States. It is always difficult to travel and make friends in the way
that we do, knowing deep down, that we may never see them again.
I am also glad that I was talked into going on the one day Safari. Originally, I had just
wanted to climb Meru and Kili. Jakob was an excellent guide on that side adventure to
Ngoro Ngoro. The best thing was while we thought we had left the park, a mature lion
jumped out of the brush almost on top of our vehicle. It looked almost as stunned as my
mates and me.
I cannot say enough about how people make the difference on any adventure. Everyone, from
porters and cooks to office staff and drivers were courteous, friendly, punctual, and very
capable. Thanks to all. I already have recommended your company to others and reminisce
fondly over the friends we have in Tanzania. Regards to all.

Very Sincerely and Respectfully,
